We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
I would like to mention a beneficial point that will help us approach the Quran as students, especially as seekers of guidance.
When we approach the Quran we are supposed to approach it with a particular mindset, with a particular framework and the most important component of that framework is recognizing that the Quran is a book of guidance. The primary objective of every single thing mentioned in the Quran is to guide us as human beings towards success in this life, but more importantly towards salvation in the life of the Hereafter. Understanding the Quran is our own personal book of guidance makes it more relevant and real for us.
Anytime I'm reciting the Quran, anytime I'm listening to the Quran, I should assume that this is my own personal book of guidance. That Allah ﷻ is speaking to me directly and He's giving me this Divine guidance. He's teaching me how to live my life in a manner that is approved by Him. Allah ﷻ describes the Quran as:
Quran (2:185)
It is a guide for all of mankind, and that is something profound to reflect upon. The Quran is not only a book of guidance for us as believers, it is a book of guidance for all of humanity - regardless of their background, their ethnicity, their race, and religion. The Quran contains guidance for every single human being as long as they approach the Quran with an open heart, with an open mind, and with humility.
But those who benefit most from the guidance are the people of taqwa and that's why Allah ﷻ also describes the Quran as:
Quran (2:2)
That the Quran is a guide for the people of taqwa - for those who are mindful conscious and aware of Allah.
So everything that's mentioned in the Quran is mentioned with the objective of guidance and when we recite the Quran we should focus on the practical and spiritual points of guidance that we can extract and understand.
May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to approach the Quran with this mindset.
أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
