Assalamu Alaykum,

Today’s gem is from Mufti Abdul Wahab Waheed’s course, Awaken: Tafisr or Surah Al-Tur. In this gem, Mufti Abdul Wahab explains who the mukadhibin mentioned in Surah Tur Ayah 11 are.

We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

Allah ﷻ is saying who are these people? Who are the mukadhibin - the deniers?

They are those who were caught up in the hustle and bustle of Dunya and they forgot about remembering Allah ﷻ. They stepped away from their covenant that they made with Allah ﷻ. 

Allah ﷻ has not told us that we cannot earn Dunya. He ﷻ has not told us that we are not allowed to have families, not allowed to have children, not allowed to have sports and enjoyment in life. He ﷻ has informed us that to be a true ‘abd or ‘abidah of Allah, a true worshiper of Allah ﷻ, at every one of those moments, know what the demand of Allah ﷻ is from us.

If I am spending time with my family, am I also upholding the commandments of Allah? If I am playing sports, am I doing something which can break the commands of Allah? So, it's not saying that they're involved in Dunya; it's saying that they have completely immersed themselves in Dunya and have absolutely no care for Akhirah, yal’aboon (in ayah 12, screenshot below) means they're enjoying.

So these people enjoy Dunya, they enjoy what they are given, because they think that this is it.

May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to be conscious of Allah ﷻ at all times.
