Assalamu Alaykum,

Today we’re going through a gem from Shaykh Mohammad Elshinawy’s course on the Miracles of the Qur’an. In this gem, Shaykh shares one of the miracles of the Qur’an.

We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

One of the aspects that show us that the Qur’an is miraculous is the reaction of its first audience, the Quraysh.

The Prophet ﷺ first came to the Quraysh with the Qur’an with very uncomfortable truths about the falsehood that they were upon and the indecency that had become normalized in that society.

He challenged them to bring something like it (the Qur’an), and they reached for their swords. I’m fast forwarding here, but at the end of the story they reached for their swords.

What does that tell you?

You guys are the masters, the custodians of the Arabic language. You guys belittle other civilizations. And you couldn’t collectively put together what this one man supposedly put together?

So when they reached for their swords, this meant that they must have been failed by their words because they were ready to murder their own family members, their own clansmen, spend all their money, and lose their honorific leadership of the Arabian Peninsula.

They put everything they had on the line, why?

Because this was the one thing they couldn’t do. If it was doable, surely they would have done it.

May Allah grant us tawfiq to develop our relationship with the Qur’an.
