Prophet Muhammad

There is a word that Allah ﷻ uses to describe Himself in the surah 3 times. The word is Latif.

What is it?

One of the meanings of Latif is subtle.

When the people of the cave said, why don't you go to the market to bring some food? But be subtle, don’t let anyone find out about you.

(Quran 18:19)

Allah ﷻ is very subtle in His plans. Allah ﷻ doesn't necessarily come right in front and show you look at all that I can do. Allah ﷻ works behind the scenes, and He's very subtle in the way that He took Yusuf from being a slave to becoming a king. If someone saw his trajectory as a slave, they would never think that this person could become a king. But Allah ﷻ is very subtle.

Just because it's not happening right away, it's not happening right now, doesn't mean that Allah ﷻ is not being subtle for our qadr (predestiny) as well. It's part of the process of Allah ﷻ.

May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to trust His process.

أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
