Assalamu Alaykum,

Today’s gem is from Dr. Haifaa Younis’ class, A Pure Heart: A Believers Journey to Refining the Soul. In this gem, Dr. Haifaa gives an example of the difference in reactions of people that claim to do things for Allah ﷻ versus people that are truthfully doing things for Allah ﷻ.

We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

It’s very easy to claim that I’m doing things for Allah ﷻ, but He tests you on the spot.

Same thing for me.

I flew all the way - 5 hours - from California for this event and I have this going on and that going on. The organizers told me that we have this many women for registration, its going to be a packed event.

When I put my foot on the plane on the way here I said Ya Allah this is for you.

When I get here and I look around I don’t see anybody. Imagine this. Its completely zero, no attendees.

If I come here and I get upset, I see there’s no one and I text Mufti Abdul Wahab and I say you will not see me anymore, then I am a big claimer and I don’t deserve to be sitting here. On the other hand, if I see that there’s no one here and I don’t get upset and I say Alhumdulilah, Allah will reward me, then I am truthful.

May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to be sincere.
