Assalamu Alaykum,

Today’s gem is from Mufti Abdul Wahab Waheed’s course, Analysis of Surah Rahman. In this gem Mufti Abdul Wahab explains some of the blessings in water as he explains Surah Rahman Ayahs 19 - 25.

We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

This is absolutely unbelievable. First Allah ﷻ speaks about the blessings of the sky, then Allah ﷻ speaks about the blessing of dry land (which is the earth), and then Allah ﷻ speaks about the blessing of water.

So then Allah ﷻ speaks about the blessing of water. You have salt water and you have sweet water and they never mix. And from this water - even salt water - there's blessings because from there you can find ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ (pearl and coral), you can find things of value for you. How many great precious gems are found within the oceans? That's Allah ﷻ putting it there and He allows us to benefit from it.

And then Allah ﷻ says,

Forget about just the benefits of the pearls, not everyone can benefit from that. But guess what? Another benefit of the water is that it allows you to travel on it. The body of water is so big. Water sinks things, but Allah ﷻ has made the water in such a way that even ships that are as large as mountains, ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ means ships that are elevated. فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ - they travel in the ocean like they are mountains. Such giant ships, think of the Titanic and other large ships that we've seen, they travel on the water.

So Allah ﷻ has not only given us water to create life in this world, Allah ﷻ has also hidden gems in wealth inside of this water, and Allah ﷻ has also allowed this water to be a means of transportation for us.

May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to be grateful for His blessings.

أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
