Assalamu Alaykum,

Today’s gem is from Shaykh Mohammed Ishtiaq’s class, Prophetic Leadership. In this gem, Shaykh Ishtiaq explains how the Prophet ﷺ embodied the law of magnetism - he was able to attract people to his cause even though it wasn’t popular in the beginning.

Hope you enjoy!

We begin in the Name of Allah , the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad

We look at the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and the people he was able to attract to a cause that was not popular at the beginning. Initially, it was only the slaves and the poor who were coming towards the Prophet ﷺ. But towards the end, influential leaders and prominent figures began to embrace Islam. However, who does Allah ﷻ remind the Prophet of?

It is the people who were there from the beginning—no one else will be like them.

Are you attracting the right kind of people in your life? Who are the people surrounding you, even in college? Are they trustworthy, or are they not? Be very careful.

If you aren't attracting the right kind of people, what do you need to do? Or better yet, who do you need to become to attract the right kind of people to you and your organization?

The best and the brightest came to Islam through the Prophet ﷺ's example, because that's who he was.

May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to become people who attract good company.

أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
