Assalamu Alaykum,
Today’s gem is from Mufti Abdul Rahman Waheed & Shaykh Abdul Nasir Jangda’s course, Surah Al-Hujurat: Code of Conduct. In this gem, Mufti Abdul Rahman shares one of the signs that can indicate that an action was accepted.
Hope you enjoy!
We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
How do I know that my Umrah was accepted? My Hajj was accepted? My Salah was accepted?
Having the correct mannerism while performing an act before, during, or after the act is a great sign that Allah ﷻ accepted your act. You put the sajjadah down, wear nice clothes, and then you pray - this is a great sign Allah ﷻ accepted. You went to Medina you had the correct adab, you lowered your voice - a great sign that Allah ﷻ accepted.
Hazrat Shaykh used to recite thousands and thousands of durud (salutations on the Prophet ﷺ) with his tongue and he used to recite thousands of Surah Kauthar to give to the Prophet ﷺ on his journey to Umrah and people used to ask him why do you do that? He said because I'm washing my tongue so it's worthy of saying Assalmu Alayka Ya Rasululah.
This is adab (etiquette).
You’re about to say Assalamu Alayka Ya Rasululah with the same tongue you just backbited someone a minute ago? This is against adab (etiquette).
So a person who is particular about this adab (etiquette) when they get to Madina, they will have this mentality that I’m coming in the presence and I'm about to say Salam to the greatest man to ever walk in the face of the earth - this is a great blessing, I don't want to ruin it from myself. The more you inculcate adab (etiquette) the higher chance that your visiting the prophet, your visiting the Ka’ba in Makkah was accepted. So that's why we need to learn the adab of doing things.
May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to learn and embody adab.
أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
