Assalamu Alaykum,
Today’s gem is from Shaykh Abdullah Waheed’s class, The Greatest Love Story: Zainab (R) and Abul Aas (R). In this gem, Shaykh Abdullah Waheed gives us a little insight into who Khadijah (R) was.
Hope you enjoy!
We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
So Allah ﷻ gives His Salaam to Khadijah (R) and Jibreel (AS) sneaks his Salaam in too.
Who is this woman who is receiving Salaam from Allah ﷻ and Jibreel (AS)?
Why?
For the last ten years of her life and fifteen years prior to this, she gave unwavering support to the Prophet ﷺ. The first person to tell the Prophet ﷺ everything is good was Khadijah (R).
The Prophet ﷺ comes home from Ghar Hira, and he's shivering (after receiving the first revelation). He goes to Khadijah (R) and says, "Zammiluni, Dathiruni" (cover me, wrap me). During this time she comforts the Prophet ﷺ by saying that Allah ﷻ will never waste you.
Imagine having a spouse like that. It goes both ways, husband and wife. You come home, and you're troubled, and then your spouse comforts you.
You think Khadijah (R) didn't have problems in her life? She lost two sons. She had enough grief but also had enough fuel in her to support the Prophet ﷺ.
May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to support our families.
