We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

I believe that adab (etiquette) is the key to everything. You can have all the merits, all the money, everything, but if you lack adab, you lack everything. First of all, adab is a means to attaining all virtues. If you have etiquette, manners, and the correct ethics, you can get far in life. It is the way to attain all virtues.

Parents who are sitting here understand what I'm saying. You came to this country wanting your kid to have a good education, to attend some of the best schools. They got a degree and a good job, but they don't even know how to sit in front of you.

What was the point of all that?

On the other hand, you might have someone who doesn’t have a great GPA in high school, who might not be pursuing the best major or career path, but they know how to shake your hand, they know how to pick up a plate for their father, or pick up the shoes for their mother.

These small things matter.

They warm your heart and bring you comfort. Dua comes from your heart for that person.

That's why it is important—adab is the means to attain all virtues.

May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to work on our adab.
