For negative things we blame deen, and for positive things we give credit elsewhere...

Assalamu Alaykum,
Today’s gem is from Mufti Abdul Wahab Waheed’s course, Tour of Tales: the Journey of Yusuf (AS). In this gem Mufti Abdul Wahab explains how we should give credit for our positive things to Allah ﷻ.
Hope you enjoy!
We begin in the Name of Allah ﷻ, the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He ﷻ sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
This is a crucial lesson for all of us: if Allah ﷻ has given us a talent or a skill, it is our responsibility to use it to make the deen look good. Not to make ourselves look good. Making ourselves look good is very easy. But using whatever Allah ﷻ has given us and giving the credit of that goodness to deen.
In this world, the opposite takes place. Someone comes to us and says, "How did you get so far in life?"
“You know, Alhamdulillah, I tried very hard. I worked hard.”
Or you say, "My parents did a great job."
Or we say that "I had a great education."
And when someone says, "How come you're not able to buy that house?"
"Man, you don't understand. It's so hard. Interest is haram. If it was halal, I would have a mansion."
"Why haven't you done this yet?"
"Wallahi, I wish I could but it's haram. Deen is so hard."
So, everything negative that we can't do is attributed towards deen and everything positive that we experience is attributed to something other than deen. Hence, deen becomes a burden because all the negative things are attributed towards deen while it should be the opposite.
"How did you get this job?"
"I made dua to Allah ﷻ, made an effort, and Allah ﷻ gave it to me."
Who gave it? Allah ﷻ gave it to me.
When they came to Yusuf (AS) and they said, "Interpret the dream for us," he didn't say, "This is from that which I have learnt." He said, "This is from the skills and talents that my Lord has endowed me with."
The mistake of Qarun wasn't that he was wealthy. The mistake of Qarun is believing that his wealth came from himself—"I worked hard for this, this is mine"—while Sulaiman was far wealthier than Qarun, but when he was asked how he received it, he said, "Allah ﷻ has given it to me. I have been endowed with this. I have been given this."
Credit needs to be given to deen.
May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to give credit to deen.
أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
