We begin in the Name of Allah , the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad

The Prophet ﷺ’s sunnah was that he would always out-gift people - no one could out-gift him. If someone gave him a gift, his sunnah was to always out-gift that person.

The Prophet ﷺ said every person who did me a favor I’ve always done more for them other than Abu Bakr (R), only Allah can repay his favors.

Moulana Zakariyyah (Rahimuhullah) said something interesting about this. He said think about us as the Ummah of the Prophet ﷺ, every time we hear the Prophet ﷺ’s name and we say ﷺ we’re giving him a gift because we’re making dua for him. And every time we hear Adhan we make the following dua:

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ، وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّداً الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَاماً مَحْمُوداً الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ، إَنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ.

Allaahumma Rabba haathid - da'watit - taammati wassalaatil-qaa'imati, 'aati Muhammadanil-waseelata walfadheelata, wab 'ath-hu maqaamam-mahmoodanil-lathee wa'adtahu, 'innaka laa tukhliful-mee'aad

O Allah , Lord of this perfect call and established prayer. Grant Muhammad the intercession and favor, and raise him to the honored station You have promised him, [verily You do not neglect promises].

Dua after the adhan

After every adhan we’re also giving him a gift by making dua for him. So if his sunah was to always out-gift the one who gave him a gift, then imagine when he finally meets us what gift he will give us. You can’t even imagine that because he always out-gifts us. And once you receive the gift that he has for us in Akhira, all the pain, all the suffering that you went through in this life will all be worth it.

When you now hear the Prophet’s name, think about that.

May Allah ﷻ grant us tawfiq to send many gifts to the Prophet ﷺ.

أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
