Today we’re going through a gem from Shaykh Omar Suleiman’s Perfect Timing Class on how the Prophet ﷺ is a mercy to us even today. Hope you enjoy!

We begin in the Name of Allah , the Most Merciful and Compassionate,
We ask that He sends Peace and Blessings upon our noble and beloved
Prophet Muhammad

Allah ﷻ says in the Quran (Surah Anbiya, Ayah 107)

(Quran 21:107)

Ibn Abbas (RA) comments on this verse very beautifully. He says that the Prophet ﷺ is a mercy to the muslim and to the non muslim, he’s a mercy to humans and to animals, He’s a mercy to the wicked and to the righteous, he's a mercy to every single creation of Allah .

For those that believe in him,ﷺ, the mercy of the Prophet ﷺ to you then extends to the hereafter.

For those that reject him, they are still touched by his mercy in this world, but punished in the hereafter.

His presence, ﷺ, was a mercy to everyone around him because Allah says in the Quran (Surah Anfal, Ayah 33):

(Quran 8:33)

That Allah would not punish the people while you are amongst them oh Muhammad ﷺ.

So whether you were righteous or wicked, while the Prophet ﷺ was amongst you he was a mercy in that he was a preventer of harm to come to you. And on the day of judgment the righteous will have punishment prevented from them should they follow his roadmap ﷺ.

And in that sense the Prophet ﷺ remains a mercy to us even today.

He’s a mercy to us now in that, if his sunnah remains amongst us, ﷺ, then that prevents the punishment of Allah in the same way that the physical presence of the Prophet ﷺ prevents the punishment of Allah from falling upon a people.

The more Rasulullah ﷺ is amongst us, the more sunnah we bring into our lives, the more protected we are in Divine Grace from any type of punishment from coming to us.

May Allah grant us tawfiq to bring the sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ into our lives.

أقول قولي هذا وأستغفر الله لي ولكم، فاستغفروه إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
